Yes folks, the new trailer for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider game has finally arrived. For some, you have perhaps been eagerly awaiting the latest instalment to the Tomb Raider series. Like myself, you may have also been wondering where are they taking it next? Although we have yet to see any real gameplay we can start to take a guess as the what the story might be for the next game in the series. If you want to see the full trailer, you can check the video out below.

So, from what we’ve already seen, this looks like it is going to be a darker game. This is suppose to be the part of the story that really shows of Lara’s adventuring prowess. Even the title suggests a darker undertone. Whether this “shadow” is about Lara herself or what comes of the life she has chosen, I suppose we will have to wait and see.

So, we see Lara traversing a number of different terrains. However, it does look like it will be set somewhere in the jungle in what looks like a Aztec-style civilisation. And, by the looks of things, they’ve changed up Lara’s look…again. The last two games we saw a change in the appearance of the Tomb Raider herself. They weren’t necessarily huge changes from the first to the second but clearly they wanted to give her a different look. This time, it seems to be the same thing. She has yet again slightly changed from when we last saw her.

We also see she still has her signature climbing pick weapon which features heavily in the trailer. I suppose this is her new signature rather than the classic twin pistols. Although if you ask me, I’d rather have the twin pistols.

Well, who can really say at this point. The next instalment looks intriguing to be sure, but what will the game actually play like? We can expect to perhaps see a similar pattern to the previous games. With the inclusion of collectables and customisation; I imagine it would be a very similar gameplay style. The story is yet to really make much sense but at this point it seems like a bit of a waiting game. It is likely that we will see much more at E3 this year with the release coming this September.
