Earn Gold In The Elder Scrolls Online

If you’re a beginning player looking to earn gold in ESO, it’ll take perseverance and patience. No one starts out the game rich, but wealth is definitely obtainable. Do you want crazy stacks of gold in your account? Then follow these proven methods.

To earn gold in The Elder Scrolls Online it’s essential that you join a good trading guild. There are a lot of guilds out there, so make sure to join an active one with a full membership roster and a vendor in a major city. Often times, guilds will advertise openings in Zone Chat. You can also click here to shop around for a few that pique your interest.

An active trading guild will:

  • Give you a place to sell your loot and crafted goods (i.e., through the guild vendor).
  • Provide a network of guildies looking to purchase crafted items, materials, etc.
  • Provide a network of guildies where you can purchase items and materials for your own needs.

It goes without saying, but Quests are one of the main ways to earn gold in The Elder Scrolls Online. Admittedly, quests won’t earn you money hand over fist, but since you’re completing them for experience and the story line anyway, the gold will add up steadily.

The Elder Scrolls Online actually encourages exploration, and seeing as how Quests = Gold, you’re advised to take your time to thoroughly explore every Zone for adventures to complete.

A penny saved is a penny earned, and one of the best ways to earn gold in The Elder Scrolls Online is not to waste it in the first place. Don’t throw your money away on fast traveling to Wayshrines or repairing armor. Simply walk or ride to the nearest Wayshrine to travel for free, and sell or deconstruct broken armor as it becomes unusable. During questing, you’ll always find good bits of gear to replace the broken stuff with.

The huge majority of MMORPGs out there have a lot of drops that are simply trash — junk that you don’t even bother picking up after awhile. It’s sort of like finding a penny on the sidewalk — you just ignore it.

Well, if you want to become wealthy in Tamriel, don’t ignore loot drops. For that matter, don’t ignore the plants you come across, ore deposits, wood stacks, Aspect runes, barrels, chests, etc. — search for and collect everything you find. Don’t ignore those pennies!

You can use virtually any item in the world:

  • Valuable items can be sold for cash.
  • Armor and weapons (not sold) can be used to replenish broken pieces, or deconstructed for valuable materials and crafting ingredients (not to mention the crafting experience you’ll earn).
  • Ore, wood, ingredients etc. can be sold or hoarded for your own crafting purposes.

So basically, it comes down to collecting absolutely everything you can, keeping what you need, and selling all the rest.

Crafting is one of the game’s features that allows you to earn gold in The Elder Scrolls Online.  If you take the time to become a master craftsman, you’ll undoubtedly be able to earn a nice living, perhaps even becoming rich. Every hour, Zone Chat has players looking for crafters to make them armor, glyphs, etc. Skilled crafters are tipped well.

You should choose the crafting profession that suits you best, and spend time and Skill points mastering it. Be forewarned: it takes time and resources to become a master craftsman, but just like investing in an education in real life, your advanced skills will serve you well in earning gold in The Elder Scrolls Online economy.

Really good article for beginners, especially in ESO it’s really hard to get some gold on a start, so that tips will help some people I think 🙂

Hey there, that’s a great guide for sure, but those “proven ways” won’t get you the thousands of gold in ESO, rather smaller amounts, but consistently. And let’s be frank, not everyone have the time or patience to get the gold as it’s described here. Don’t get me wrong, all of these ways are solid, but to get a bigger amount of gold and fast, you will have better odds by getting in touch with players who actually sell the gold. In fact, there are many players with genuine intent to sell their gold. One thing you need to do is to find them and get into the negotiations.

This is a nice guide for ESO beginners. It is hard to farm eso gold and costs you much time and energy. I have been playing for a few years now (since late 2016) and I recently hit CP 1000, finished my Master Crafter, and have completed Cadwell’s Silver on my main account. I am going to start Gold soon, once I finish some more of the DLC. I have almost 3200 hours into the game and I have enjoyed every minute of it! The most fantastic part is the amount of things there are to do, and how there is literally something for everyone. The game motto of “Play the way you want” is very true at least of a broad sense. The issue of endgame is another topic, but I digress.
